About the live chat
Streamers use live chat mockups for stream overlays, “best moments” recaps, sponsor decks and video thumbnails; filmmakers use them for scenes set during a livestream. The colours of Super Chats follow the amount, from blue for small tips to red for the largest, so the panel looks right at a glance.
Who it’s for
Streamers making highlight thumbnails and overlays, editors recreating a chat moment, and filmmakers staging a livestream scene.
What makes it different
- Paste a whole chat at once: one message per line, with $5 for Super Chats, +name for new members and @mod / @member / @owner for roles.
- Super Chat colours follow the amount automatically.
- Pinned message, moderator wrench badge and member badges.
- Light and dark mode, exported as a crisp PNG.
How to make a YouTube live chat mockup
- 1Add messages and choose who sent each one: viewer, member, moderator or owner.
- 2Add Super Chats with an amount — the colour changes with the tier — and new-member announcements.
- 3Pin a message to the top if you like.
- 4Switch between light and dark mode and set the chat title (Top chat or Live chat).
- 5Download the panel as a PNG.

Common use cases
- Stream recaps
- Recreate a memorable chat moment for a highlights video or thumbnail.
- Overlays and decks
- Show sponsors how chat engages during a stream.
- Film and fiction
- Make a believable livestream chat for a scene, with invented usernames.
Tips
- Mix short reactions with a few longer messages — real chats are mostly one- and two-word replies.
- Use invented usernames. Real usernames attached to invented messages can mislead.
- One or two Super Chats look natural; a wall of them looks staged.
Use it responsibly. Mockups are for design, planning, teaching and fiction. Don’t present them as real screenshots, don’t impersonate real creators, and never use invented numbers to mislead sponsors, buyers or viewers. Read our acceptable use policy.

Live Chat FAQ
What are the Super Chat colours?
They follow the amount: the smallest tiers are blue, then teal, green, yellow, orange, magenta and red for the largest. The generator picks the colour from the amount you type (in US dollars).
Can I add my own avatars?
Yes, upload an image for any message, or keep the coloured initials.
Is this affiliated with YouTube?
No. It’s an independent mockup of the general live chat layout, without official logos.
