Fake Discord Chat Generator

Build a Discord-style channel or DM: avatars on the left, coloured usernames, timestamps beside names, highlighted @mentions and reaction chips.

Discord doesn't use bubbles. Messages flow down the left side, grouped under a username and avatar, and the rhythm of a busy channel comes from those groupings, the mention highlights and the little reaction counters. This generator recreates that layout so you can mock up community announcements, gaming banter, moderation scenarios or a bot's responses. Turn on Group chat to show a #channel; leave it off for a direct message.

  • Free, no sign-up
  • Runs in your browser
  • PNG, JPG and video export

How to make a Discord chat screenshot

  1. 1Turn on Group chat for a server channel, then set the channel name (e.g. “general”) as the group name.
  2. 2Add server members in People, each with a role colour and avatar. Turn on Admin to show a MOD tag.
  3. 3Write messages and pick the sender for each. Consecutive messages from one person group under one header.
  4. 4Type @name inside messages to highlight mentions.
  5. 5Add reactions — they show as chips with counts under the message.
  6. 6Use dark mode for Discord's default look.
  7. 7Export the PNG.

Tips for a more convincing Discord mockup

  • Use role colours sparingly — most members in a server have the default colour.
  • Discord timestamps read like “Today at 9:41 PM”; put that format in the time field.
  • Group consecutive messages from the same person; Discord users often send several short lines.
  • Add one or two reactions with different counts rather than many identical ones.
  • For bot messages, name the sender like “Helper Bot” and keep replies structured.

Use it responsibly. Mockups are for entertainment, education, design and storytelling. Don’t present them as real conversations, don’t impersonate real people, and never use them as evidence or to deceive anyone. Read our acceptable use policy.

Yes. Switch Contact info to Group and set each member's name colour.

How do @mentions work?

Type @ followed by a name in any message, e.g. @Marco. It's highlighted automatically.
