About Mocknex
Free, fast, private tools for making fictional phone and social media screens.
Mocknex started from a simple frustration: making a believable chat screenshot for a video, a slide or a short film meant either faking it on a real phone (and exposing real contacts) or fighting with design software. We wanted something that opens instantly, works on a phone, and produces a sharp image in a minute.
What we build
Today there are 52 generators covering chats, group chats, social posts, stories, comments, notifications, calls, dating apps and AI assistant layouts. They share one editor and one rendering engine, so improvements reach every tool at once.
How we work
- Private by default. Editing and exporting happen in your browser. We don’t receive your messages or photos.
- Original designs. Every layout is our own recreation of an app’s general conventions. We don’t use official logos or assets.
- Useful content, not filler. Each tool page and guide is written to answer a real question. Guides are written and maintained by The Mocknex team, and we update them when apps change.
- Responsible use. Mockups are for fiction, education, design and entertainment. Our acceptable use policy explains what isn’t allowed.
Not affiliated
Mocknex is independent and isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of the companies whose product styles we reference. Their names are used only to describe the style of a mockup.
