Fake Group Chat Generator
Build a group conversation with as many people as your scene needs — each with a name, photo and colour — then switch between WhatsApp, iMessage, Messenger, Telegram and more styles.
Group chats are their own genre: overlapping conversations, someone always late to reply, a muted friend who suddenly appears with one devastating message. This generator handles the mechanics so you can focus on the writing. Sender names appear above their messages (or inside the bubble in WhatsApp and Telegram styles), avatars sit beside incoming runs, and system notes like “Leah added Marco” or “You changed the group name” set up the scene.

How to make a group chat screenshot
- 1Name the group and upload a group photo in Platform & header.
- 2Open People and add everyone in the chat. Give each person a name, photo and colour.
- 3Mark admins if the style shows them (WhatsApp and Telegram do).
- 4Add a system note such as “Leah created group” or “Marco joined”.
- 5Write the messages and choose the sender from the dropdown on each card — or paste a script with “Name: message” lines and new people are created automatically.
- 6Try different styles from the Style menu to see which app suits your story.
- 7Export the PNG, using “Fit content” height if you want the whole chat in one image.

Tips for a more convincing Group Chat mockup
- Give each character a texting habit: one uses all lowercase, one writes essays, one only sends reactions. Readers learn who's who quickly.
- Not everyone answers everything — let side conversations overlap.
- Use a poll for the classic “where are we eating” debate.
- Keep the group name specific and a little silly; it's the first thing viewers read.
- For long scenes, export in several phone-height screenshots rather than one very tall image — it's easier to read in videos.
Use it responsibly. Mockups are for entertainment, education, design and storytelling. Don’t present them as real conversations, don’t impersonate real people, and never use them as evidence or to deceive anyone. Read our acceptable use policy.
